Return Policy

Returns for something you didn't like, or didn't fit etc are returned at your own cost. We're a little bike shop in the Yorkshire Dales and are unable to offer free returns.

The Return Policy below applies to standard returns bought online only. We have a separate returns policy for items bought in-store.

If there is a problem with an item you have received or if you believe a product has developed a fault, please get in touch with our Customer Service Team in the first instance and we'll decide on the best course of action from there.

Whatever the reason for the return, we are unable to arrange a collection or send a shipping label. However, if you are returning a faulty item under warranty we will refund you for your return shipping costs.

Important: If you have bought a bike from us online, any warranty issues will be dealt with on an RTB (return to base) basis. This means you will need to get the bike to us for inspection should the need arise and will be liable for any transport costs. If you are unable or unwilling to do this and need to take it to a bike shop more local to yourself - you will be liable for any costs and/or repairs charged by that bike shop.

Online Return Policy

We have a separate returns policy for items purchased in-store. This is available to view at the checkout.

If you receive an order and find you have changed your mind or the item just isn’t right for you, don’t worry. Goods can be returned for a refund within 14 days from the date of purchase (subject to the product exclusions outlined below).

Unwanted items are returned at your own cost.

If you need a different size - just order the correct size from our website and we'll refund you for the original item you purchased when it arrives back with us.

Goods must be returned in an unused, re-saleable condition, with their original packaging, and all labels still attached. They should also be securely packaged in a sealed box, to ensure the contents are protected during transit. Our Returns Team will review all items to ensure they meet the criteria outlined in this Returns Policy. If an item is returned outside of our Returns Policy, we may be unable to process a full refund. We will contact you in such circumstances.

All refunds will be issued to the original payment method on the order within 14 days of receipt at our warehouse. Once the refund has been processed by us it can take 3-5 working days depending on your payment provider.

Product Exclusions

There are some exclusions to our Returns Policy, as detailed below:

  • Nutritional products or those with a best before date cannot be returned.
  • Personalised or customised items, such as wheel builds, cannot be returned.
  • GPS systems, such as sports watches or cycle computers, can only be returned if unregistered.
  • For hygiene reasons, any intimate garments, such as padded shorts, underwear and swimsuits, cannot be returned.
  • Gift vouchers cannot be returned.

Please note, 3 Peaks Cycles reserve the right to refuse a return if we believe the purpose was for stock trading/reselling and not personal use.

Bikes

If you wish to return a bike that just isn't for you then it must reach us in a brand new re-saleable condition. If the bike has not been in stock at our store and ordered for you specially it will be subject to a 20% re-stocking fee.
If you have ridden it a few times (especially with ebikes as the mileage will go up) then we may not be able to offer a full refund.
This will be assessed on a case by case basis. You are also responsible for the return shipping and any damage that may happen in transit.
We strongly suggest trying any bike first instead of just buying blind online.

This Return Policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Bike Issues & Warranty

If you have bought a bike from us and it develops any issues that may be covered by warranty - the bike will need to be returned to us in order for us to effect the warranty. This is at your own cost and will need to be facilitated by yourself.

We always recommend taking the bike to your local bike shop although we are not liable for any extra costs incurred by doing this.

North Wales Trail Running is a comprehensive guide to off-road running across North Wales, including Snowdonia, Anglesey and into the Llŷn Peninsula and the Clwyds. With 20 runs from 4km to 20.4km in length, this book is suitable for runners of all abilities.

North Wales has some of the most diverse terrain in the UK, from rocky outcrops and large cwms to steep-sided valleys and magical llyns. It is a Mecca for the adventurous runner, and home to the 104km Paddy Buckley Round. In this book, author Steve Franklin has collected together many of his favourite runs, from low-lying loops around idyllic llyns and reservoirs, to serious hands-on-knees fell runs on some of Snowdonia’s biggest mountains. Summit Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Conwy Mountain, and discover quieter corners of the country around Cnicht, the Northern Carneddau and the Crafnant valley.

Each route features clear and easy-to-use Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 maps, easy-to-follow directions, details of distance and timings, and refreshment stops and local knowledge.

A relative latecomer to the sport, Steve Franklin started running after a rock climbing injury left him unable to climb. He set the bar high with the aim of beating his brother’s Iron Man marathon time (three hours and ten minutes) but foolishly chose the Snowdon Marathon, the nearest one to his then home in Bangor, North Wales, to make the bid. Needless to say he failed, completing the marathon in three hours and twenty-one minutes. Since that fateful day Steve has left the tarmac and ventured on to the fells. He now lives in Sheffield where he owns and runs a running shop (Front Runner). He regularly heads back to North Wales for extended trips to run and climb, and in 2014 he completed the Paddy Buckley Round (104km and 8,500 metres of ascent and descent in under twenty-four hours).
