Return Policy

The Return Policy below applies to standard non-faulty returns only.

If there is a problem with an item you have received or if you believe a product has developed a fault, please get in touch with our Customer Service Team in the first instance and we'll decide on the best course of action from there.

Important: If you have bought a bike from us online, any warranty issues will be dealt with on an RTB (return to base) basis. This means you will need to get the bike to us for inspection should the need arise and will be liable for any transport costs. If you are unable or unwilling to do this and need to take it to a bike shop more local to yourself - you will be liable for any costs and/or repairs charged by that bike shop.

Return Policy

If you receive an order and find you have changed your mind or the item just isn’t right for you, don’t worry. Goods can be returned for a refund within 14 days from the date of purchase (subject to the product exclusions outlined below).

Unwanted items are returned at your own cost.

Goods must be returned in an unused, re-saleable condition, with their original packaging, and all labels still attached. They should also be securely packaged in a sealed box, to ensure the contents are protected during transit. Our Returns Team will review all items to ensure they meet the criteria outlined in this Returns Policy. If an item is returned outside of our Returns Policy, we may be unable to process a full refund. We will contact you in such circumstances.

All refunds will be issued to the original payment method on the order within 14 days of receipt at our warehouse. Once the refund has been processed by us it can take 3-5 working days depending on your payment provider.

Product Exclusions

There are some exclusions to our Returns Policy, as detailed below:

  • Nutritional products or those with a best before date cannot be returned.
  • Personalised or customised items, such as wheel builds, cannot be returned.
  • GPS systems, such as sports watches or cycle computers, can only be returned if unregistered.
  • For hygiene reasons, any intimate garments, such as padded shorts, underwear and swimsuits, cannot be returned.
  • Gift vouchers cannot be returned.

Please note, 3 Peaks Cycles reserve the right to refuse a return if we believe the purpose was for stock trading/reselling and not personal use.

If you wish to return a bike that just isn't for you then it must reach us in a brand new re-saleable condition. If you have ridden it a few times (especially with ebikes as the mileage will go up) then we may not be able to offer a full refund. This will be assessed on a case by case basis. You are also responsible for the return shipping and any damage that may happen in transit.
We strongly suggest trying any bike first instead of just buying blind online.

This Return Policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Chris Bonington Mountaineer is a photographic autobiography, documenting over sixty years of climbing the world's most beautiful and challenging mountains. Few climbers can match Bonington's climbing achievements. He is one of the most accomplished and respected climbers in the world.

In this 2016 revised edition, which features over 500 photographs, we are given a frank perspective into the surreal, majestic and occasionally tragic corners of his incredible mountaineering career. Whether in the Arctic, the jungle or on an 8,000-metre peak, Bonington's stunning photography and engaging conversational prose take us through the detail of daily life on expedition, the action of the climbing and the grandeur of the mountains.

From his foundations - climbing in Snowdonia, the English Lake District, and the Highlands of Scotland - Bonington takes us to the Alps and on his expedition apprenticeship in 1960s Nepal. This quickly leads to trips to Patagonia, the Karakoram, the Amazon, Baffin Island and the River Nile, before the meat of his career on the big walls and 8,000-metre peaks of the Himalaya - with his leadership of the expeditions that made the first ascents of the south face of Annapurna in 1970 and the south-west face of Everest in 1975, and culminating in his own ascent of Everest in 1985. The greatest challenge and survival story of all is his first ascent and epic descent of The Ogre in Pakistan with Doug Scott. Bonington's undying hunger for adventure leads to later exploratory trips to Greenland, India and Morocco, and a return to the scene of one of his defining first ascents, the Old Man of Hoy, with world-class adventure climber Leo Houlding.

The result is a penetrating insight into the motivations and fears of a driven climber who set out year after year from a life of comfort and success to test himself amongst the world's most savage mountains. Chris Bonington Mountaineer is a must for anyone with a passion for exploration, mountains or climbing.

Born in 1934, Chris Bonington - mountaineer, writer, photographer and lecturer - started climbing at the age of sixteen in 1951. It has been his passion ever since. He made the first British ascent of the north face of the Eiger and led the expedition that made the first ascent of the south face of Annapurna, the biggest and most difficult climb in the Himalaya at the time. He went on to lead the expedition that made the first ascent of the south-west face of Everest in 1975, when Doug Scott and Dougal Haston became the first Britons to summit, and he reached the summit of Everest himself in 1985 with a Norwegian expedition. He has written seventeen books, fronted numerous television programmes and has lectured to the public and corporate audiences all over the world. He received a knighthood in 1996 for services to mountaineering, was president of the Council for National Parks for eight years, and is the non-executive chairman of Berghaus and a chancellor of Lancaster University.
